Location: Bristol, Avon, South West, UKA leading global aerospace organisation is seeking an Aerostructures Cost Engineer to join a high-impact cost engineering function supporting current and future aircraft programmes. This role offers exposure to complex manufacturing environments and strategic design-to-cost initiatives across composite and metallic aerostructures.This opportunity would suit an engineer with a strong manufacturing or design background who is motivated by cost effectiveness, data-driven decision making, and cross-functional collaboration.Key ResponsibilitiesProduce Recurring (RC) and Non-Recurring Cost (NRC) estimates to support Design-to-Cost initiatives across multiple aircraft programmesApply digital costing tools and models, ensuring estimates are consistent with current references and ways of workingSupport cost modelling activities, particularly within composite manufacturing processesContribute to Design-to-Cost projects from early concept through to Entry Into Service, ensuring cost targets are maintainedAnalyse work package cost estimates, identify optimisation opportunities, and communicate findings to engineering and programme stakeholdersDevelop a strong understanding of manufacturing and engineering activities to accurately assess cost impacts of design and industrial changesLead and support cost engineering discussions with suppliersParticipate in workshops and reviews, providing clear recommendations for cost-effective technical solutionsEnsure the quality, reliability, consistency, and neutrality of all costing outputsExperience & Skills RequiredDegree-qualified (or equivalent experience) in Engineering or a related technical disciplineBackground in manufacturing and/or engineering, ideally within aerospace or complex industrial environmentsKnowledge of detail part manufacturing processes, including:Composite structuresMetallic partsMachining and fabricationAssembly processesUnderstanding of non-recurring cost drivers associated with industrialisation and product changesProven Design-to-Cost experience or mindsetAbility to explain detailed technical and costing information while maintaining a broader business perspectiveStrong analytical and strategic thinking skills, including data analysis and root-cause investigationConfident communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders across engineering, programme, and supply chain teamsCollaborative team player with a proactive, problem-solving approachFluency in English is required; additional languages are advantageousWhy Apply?Work on major aerostructures programmes within a highly respected aerospace environmentExposure to advanced manufacturing technologies and cost-driven design decisionsOpportunity to influence supplier negotiations and strategic business outcomesCompetitive remuneration and flexible working arrangements availableThis role is being advertised on behalf of a confidential client.Further details will be shared with suitable candidates during the screening process.If this position aligns with your background and career goals, please apply with your CV or get in touch for a confidential discussion.
