Job Description:

Sinara Consultants is actively seeking proficient, versatile, and curious application or systems engineers to join our technical operations team.

A key purpose of the role is to provide technical support for our Sinara-built applications 24 hours a day, involving working beyond standard business hours on a rotating shift pattern including evenings, overnight, and early morning shifts, with some daytime shifts possible.

Your responsibilities include maintaining our mission-critical applications, delivering application management support within cloud-based and on-premise environments, and providing third-line technical support for Sinara software applications to various customers.

The role is remote, but you must be based in the UK.


About the Role:

The role involves active monitoring, maintenance, and incident support of Sinara software applications outside standard business hours.

You will analyze, prioritize, and resolve customer support incidents related to applications, data, or systems, whether cloud-hosted or on-premise.

You will also participate in large-scope projects, such as building internal environments with Kubernetes or implementing AWS security configurations.


Primary duties include:

* Ensuring operational performance of applications and environments
* Overnight infrastructure monitoring
* Maintaining Linux server estate and services
* Performing routine data or system configuration tasks
* Deploying and managing AWS and other cloud services
* Administering containerisation tools like Docker and Kubernetes
* Proactively improving processes
* Resolving application and environment issues
* Analyzing and triaging incidents
* Investigating and providing solutions or workarounds
* Collaborating with developers on software defects
* Communicating with customers until resolution
* Transitioning issues to the standard support team
* Updating support materials
* Contributing to customer service reports
* Documenting change requests
* Participating in application testing

The work is technically demanding and involves collaboration with Sinara’s software development teams.


The shifts:

The role supports 24/5 coverage, working in rotating shifts: late evenings (5:30pm-1:30am), overnight (12:30am-8:30am), and a flexible third shift. Shifts rotate approximately monthly, and engineers must be available with notice. Support is currently 24/5, with plans to move to 24/7 support.


Your Skillset:

Solid knowledge of IT concepts (Windows, Linux, networking, VMs, databases), AWS deployment, and container orchestration is essential.

Experience working during out-of-hours shifts focusing on cloud environments is required.

Knowledge in troubleshooting log files is beneficial.

Ideal candidates are curious, collaborative, problem-solving, self-driven, and attentive to detail, with good time management and organizational skills.
