Hays are currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to join the team at a specialist SEND Primary School in Tameside. As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs, including moderate learning difficulties, autism spectrum conditions, andplexmunication needs. You’ll work closely with class teachers and the wider support team to deliver tailored interventions, promote independence, and create a nurturing learning environment. This is a full-time, long-term role with the potential to be permanent for the right candidate.You’ll be joining a well-established special school that caters to children aged 4–11 with a wide spectrum of SEND. The school is part of a respected multi-academy trust and is known for its inclusive ethos, therapeutic curriculum, andmitment to “creating meaningful futures” for every pupil. With a strong emphasis on personalised learning pathways, the school provides a supportive and innovative environment for both staff and students. 1. Experience working with children with SEND, ideally in a school or care setting
2. A calm, patient and resilient approach
3. Any relevant qualifications are beneficial, but not essential
4. Strongmunication and teamwork skills
5. A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
6. An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one through Hays)
