About The Role
Are you a hands‑on leader with a passion for delivering high‑quality highway projects? We’re looking for a Senior Site Agent to take charge of multi-disciplinary teams, drive results, and ensure our highway renewal schemes are delivered safely, efficiently, and on time. You’ll work directly with the Senior Project Manager and our client, Connect Roads, taking ownership of a section of works from planning through to handover. This is a pivotal role for someone who thrives on responsibility and leading by example. This is your chance to step into a senior position with real ownership of project delivery. You’ll lead a skilled team, manage high‑profile contracts, and make a tangible impact on the quality and efficiency of our highway renewal schemes. This role is based across Leeds and Derby from August 2026.
What you'll be doing
* Lead a team of Sub Agents, Section Engineers, Site Engineers, and Foremen to deliver highway renewal projects.
* Drive safety and environmental standards across your site—carry out regular inspections and lead risk reviews.
* Plan, review, and manage project programmes, ensuring targets are met and work is fully resourced.
* Monitor performance, set KPIs, and coach your team to improve efficiency and quality.
* Manage subcontractors, ensuring work is delivered to schedule, budget, and specification.
* Chair site meetings, report progress, and proactively manage risks and costs.
* Take ownership of all project documentation, handover, and quality compliance.
Essential
* Experience leading highway or infrastructure renewal works, including pavement reconstruction and surfacing.
* Strong leadership skills with proven experience managing multi-disciplined teams.
* SMSTS qualified and CSCS card holder.
* In-depth knowledge of health & safety legislation, risk management, and safe systems of work.
* Ability to read technical drawings, manage programmes, and allocate resources effectively.
* Commercially aware, with experience tracking budgets and project costs.
* Excellent communicator and problem‑solver with a hands‑on approach.
* Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
* Knowledge of NEC or similar construction contracts.
* Professional accreditation (e.g., ICE, IHT) or actively working towards it.
* Experience across a variety of infrastructure works.
Who You Are
* A confident, visible leader who motivates and inspires your team.
* Solutions‑focused, able to think on your feet and adapt to changing priorities.
* Passionate about safety, quality, and delivering projects to the highest standard.
* Flexible, willing to work unsociable hours when required by programme demands.
