Are you passionate about ensuring data accuracy and integrity? Assists in the production of suite of data assurance reports to identify data exceptions across Education and Children’s Social Care case management system and supports data cleansing processes to maintain high levels of data quality.

We are excited to offer you the opportunity to join our Business Intelligence and Reporting Team as a Data Quality Officer. In this role, you will play a key part in identifying and resolving data quality issues within our Children & Young People’s case management systems. You will support with processes in relation to statutory and regulatory returns within Education and Children’s Social Care such as data verification, ensuring data is corrected in accordance with data protocols.

What will be expected from me?

You will work as part of a team to provide data quality assurance and support across Wakefield Council’s Children & Young People Services. Your role will help us meet statutory requirements and deliver improved outcomes by providing data, analytical, and administrative support for key services.

What I might be doing?

1. Ensuring the data quality of daily data feeds from your allocated group of schools.
2. Updating case management systems to ensure accuracy and currency.
3. Assist in the completion of statutory collections on time and to a high standard.
4. Have the opportunity to develop skills in reporting tools such as Excel, SQL, and Power BI to generate insights.
5. Supporting operational objectives within the Business Intelligence and Reporting Team and the wider Children & Young People’s Directorate.
6. Providing administrative support, including monitoring team mailboxes and managing Freedom of Information requests.

Essential requirements:

7. Three GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English, or a relevant qualification.
8. Knowledge of data quality standards.
9. Ability to work under pressure with strong attention to detail.
10. Proficient in MS Office applications.
11. Understanding of GDPR, Data Protection Act, and information security policies.
12. Basic knowledge of the Freedom of Information Act.
13. Experience in a similar role.
