Job Summary
This is a fantastic opportunity to join DWP Hybrid Cloud Services (HCS) as a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, creating innovative digital solutions for 22 million users. The role involves driving the adoption of Public Cloud services aligned with GDS and DWP’s strategic hosting principles.
The HCS team designs, builds, and operates hosting infrastructure including Public Cloud and On-Premises solutions, assisting product and service owners in their transition to the Cloud.
Our strategy is to implement a ‘Digital by Default’ approach, providing a secure, multi-cloud hosted service that reduces reliance on traditional hosting solutions. We focus on standardization, automation, and developing processes, training, and tools to accelerate delivery.

Job Description
You will model infrastructure solutions emphasizing operational stability, resilience, and availability, collaborating with Architects, SREs, Delivery Managers, and Product Managers to support cloud-hosted products and services. All work aligns with the Department's TRA and security standards.
Responsibilities
* Design and implement Public Cloud infrastructure services/solutions.
* Manage operational aspects of cloud technologies, ensuring security, resilience, and performance.
* Provide technical support and guidance to junior staff and users.
* Develop and execute service improvement plans.
* Manage and resolve incidents related to cloud services.
Person Specification
Highlight your experience with:
* Cloud compute, storage, and configuration ensuring scalability and resilience.
* Source code management systems like GitLab, CI/CD pipelines.
* Unix OS, container tech, and orchestration.
* Infrastructure-as-Code with Terraform, Config-as-Code with Ansible, and optionally CloudFormation.
* Automation to improve efficiency and reliability.
* Service and Delivery frameworks such as ITIL, Agile.

Benefits and Salary
