The ideal candidate will be responsible for the timely and safe delivery of goods to various locations. This role requires a strong commitment to customer service, as well as the ability to navigate efficiently through urban and rural areas. The Courier Driver will play a crucial role in ensuring that our clients receive their packages promptly and in excellent condition.
Duties
* Safely operate a delivery vehicle, ensuring compliance with all traffic regulations and company policies.
* Load and unload parcels, ensuring that items are handled carefully to prevent damage.
* Plan and follow the most efficient routes for deliveries, taking into account traffic conditions and delivery schedules.
* Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including obtaining signatures and documenting any issues encountered during transit.
* Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery status and any potential delays.
* Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure the vehicle is in good working order.
* Assist in warehouse duties when required, including sorting packages and preparing them for dispatch.
Requirements
* Previous experience as a delivery driver is essential, preferably with knowledge of commercial driving regulations.
* A valid driving licence appropriate for the vehicle being operated is required.
* A valid residency or right to work permit is necessary.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed when loading and unloading parcels.
* Strong communication skills to interact professionally with customers and team members.
* Experience in warehouse operations is a plus, enhancing overall efficiency in handling deliveries.
