The Opportunity
The successful candidate will be responsible for handling Hyperscale and Colocation data centre orders which involve on site works including major client projects where Airedale have a significant effect on the overall client program of works.This role is an excellent opportunity for a proactive candidate to become centrally involved in the success of the largest projects within Airedale and demonstrate their initiative to ensure successful project completion and drive improvement activities.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing significant Clients and ensuring delivery of multiple on site projects in line with contract requirements/terms.
* Responsibility for Airedale program of works (design, manufacture, supply, commissioning, IST, documentation provision etc.) and how this fits with client program of works.
* Coordination of multiple parties (internal and external), including multi-site manufacturing processes.
* Management of sub-contractors e.g. Health & Safety, Quality, CDM, progress reporting, etc.
* Primary contact and responsibility for large non-standard orders following handover of order from the Key Account Manager or Applications Engineer through to the Sales Order.
* Processing, Project Engineering, Drawing Office, Manufacturing and Controls teams.
* Organisation and chairing of project meetings, internal and external.
* Liaising directly with customers regarding specification queries, program of works updates, payment application queries/disputes.
* Variation management. Customer and sub-contractors.
* Maintain regular contact with Airedale customers to ensure that their orders are processed to meet with their expectations and communicate progress updates, ensuring delivery, commission and site works are completed on time.
* Accompanying customers during witness tests.
* Assisting and working with the Contracts Engineers on smaller non-standard orders as required.
Essential Skills/Experience
* Extensive project management experience (ideally HVAC related).
* Flexibility to work away from home as required which will include projects in Europe.
* Experience of working under sub-contracts.
* Excellent communication skills – both written and oral.
* Health & Safety Management and CDM regulations.
* CSCS card and SSSTS/SMSTS.
* Positive and proactive attitude.
* Commercial knowledge and experience of dealing with customers.
* Strong organisational skills.
* Ability to work to deadlines
Desirable Skills/Experience
* HNC/HND/degree in an engineering discipline
* Experience of working on Data Centres and other critical cooling projects preferred
* SAP experience preferential
