The Virtual Tour Experts is a pioneering immersive technology company redefining how people experience and navigate physical spaces. As the world’s first B Corp virtual tour agency, we combine cutting-edge digital innovation with a deep commitment to accessibility and impact. Our work spans transport, tourism and education, partnering with organisations such as the University of Cambridge and national transport bodies, and delivering globally recognised projects including the award-winning Svalbard Global Seed Vault virtual tour. With growing demand and significant opportunities ahead, we are entering a critical phase of growth and are seeking a Managing Director to lead that journey in partnership with our founders.
The Opportunity
This is a rare opportunity to lead a high-potential, purpose-driven business at a pivotal stage of growth. You will take full ownership of strategy, commercial performance and operations, working closely with the founders to scale the business, expand into existing and new markets, and build a small but high-performing team. This is a hands-on leadership role, requiring the ability to move seamlessly between strategic direction and day-to-day execution, ensuring the team delivers against key priorities and ambitious goals. The role is ideally suited to a commercially astute, digitally fluent leader who thrives in growth environments and is motivated by building a meaningful, high-impact business.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
· Define and execute a clear, ambitious growth strategy
· Build and lead a high-performing, distributed team
· Establish scalable structures, processes, and accountability
· Act as a hands-on visible leader internally and externally
Commercial & Growth
· Own revenue growth and business performance
· Lead major pitches, partnerships, and client relationships
· Expand into new sectors and markets
· Drive long-term contract wins and strategic partnerships
Operations & Delivery
· Ensure operational excellence across all projects
· Implement scalable systems to support growth
· Oversee delivery of complex, high-value programmes
· Manage performance through clear KPIs and reporting
Digital & Innovation
· Shape product and service evolution
· Stay ahead of trends in immersive tech and digital marketing
· Position the company as a leader in accessibility and innovation
Experience & Profile
· Proven experience scaling a digital, tech, or agency business
· Strong commercial acumen with a track record of growth
· Experience leading high-performing teams
· Comfort operating at both strategic and operational levels
· Experience with complex, multi-stakeholder projects
· Strong communication and leadership presence
· Experience with public sector or infrastructure clients is advantageous
