Overview
Senior System Integration Engineer
Waters, Wilmslow | Where Science, Technology & People Come Together
At Waters, our work helps scientists make a meaningful impact — from advancing cancer research and ensuring food safety, to enabling innovation in sustainable materials and next‑generation technologies.
We're looking for a Senior System Integration Engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, working close to real customer environments, and collaborating with diverse, highly skilled teams across the globe.
Responsibilities
The role
You'll work hands‑on in a dedicated lab that mirrors real‑world customer infrastructures, helping ensure our on‑premise software integrates reliably across complex enterprise environments.
* Replicate customer networks and enterprise setups, including security tools and third‑party software
* Test and validate interoperability across platforms and virtualised environments
* Act as an escalation point for complex integration issues, performing deep root‑cause analysis
* Partner closely with Engineering, Product, and Field teams — and engage directly with customers when needed — to improve deployability and customer experience
Qualifications
About you
You may come from L3/L4 Support, Sales Engineering, Professional Services, Systems Administration, or DevOps. What matters most is your curiosity, analytical mindset, and ability to connect the dots across systems.
You'll bring:
* Strong foundations in networking, Windows server environments, and troubleshooting
* Confidence working with security tooling, enterprise software, and automation scripting
* Clear, professional communication — able to explain complex issues to both technical and non‑technical audiences
Platform & Environment Experience:
* Security Tools: Familiarity with installing and configuring endpoint protection (EDR) or SIEM tools (e.g., CrowdStrike, Trellix, Splunk).
* Scripting: Practical skills in PowerShell or Bash to automate repetitive environment setup and testing tasks.
Our culture & commitment
At Waters, we believe diversity of thought, background, and experience drives better innovation. We're proud to foster an inclusive, collaborative culture where people feel valued, supported, and empowered to do their best work.
We're looking for someone who:
* Enjoys working as part of a global, cross‑functional team
* Is open, respectful, and eager to learn from others
* Values inclusion, collaboration, and shared success as much as technical excellence
Waters is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applicants of all backgrounds and are committed to building teams that reflect the diverse communities we serve.
We offer excellent employee benefits, above average holiday allowance, and will support your continued professional development throughout your time at Waters.
We can make reasonable adjustments to our interview process according to your needs.
If you want your technical expertise to support science that matters — we'd love to hear from you.
