Role Summary
This role supports the team overseeing the commercial governance of contracts with key consultancies and contractors. It’s vital to maximise returns on the budget and demonstrate value for money, and you will also help set up and manage pathfinder programmes that embed best practice and develop long‑term collaborative partnership arrangements.
Responsibilities
* Support the Commercial Assurance and Framework Management Team in providing country‑wide commercial governance and assurance to Integrated Delivery Management teams.
* Build and nurture relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve the best value for money.
* Interpret contractual and commercial matters within a high performing team.
* Participate in incident response duties and support communities to prevent environmental harm.
* Develop and manage pathfinder programmes and partnership arrangements.
Qualifications
* Essential education: A‑Level or Level 3 qualification or equivalent.
* Commercial acumen – ability to understand and analyse business situations, take proportionate risks, make informed decisions and deliver advantageous solutions.
* Strong interpersonal and influencing skills; skilled communicator.
* Stakeholder management experience.
* Strong data and document management skills.
* Strong administrative skills – organisation, minute‑taking, report drafting.
* Willingness to undertake long‑term professional qualifications such as NEC training or CIPS.
* Interest in infrastructure, construction or environmental programmes.
Desired Education / Professional Development
* Degree or equivalent professional qualification.
* Working towards status with a recognised professional body (ICE, CIWEM, APM, CIPS, RICS).
* Formal training in contract management (e.g. NEC, Contract Management Capability Programme).
