Job Title: Lead Developer – Steering & Handling (Vehicle Integration Engineering)

EES Solution is seeking a Lead Developer – Steering & Handling to join our client's high-performance Vehicle Dynamics team. In this pivotal role, you will lead the development and enhancement of data processing tools used to objectively characterise the steering and handling attributes of a wide range of vehicles.
These toolsets are essential in ensuring new vehicle programmes meet precise steering and handling performance targets, ultimately delivering the high-quality driving experience our client is known for. Working closely with domain experts in vehicle dynamics and alongside professional software developers, you’ll play a key role in translating performance requirements into robust, scalable software tools.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead ongoing development and enhancement of steering and handling data processing tools.
2. Design and maintain the software architecture and product roadmap.
3. Architect new solutions to improve test efficiency, performance insight, and engineering value.
4. Translate engineering requirements into functional software tools in close collaboration with technical stakeholders.
5. Manage and prioritise the product backlog in JIRA, ensuring all customer requirements are fully captured and aligned to business objectives.
6. Develop and support automated testing frameworks to ensure robust, reliable code deployment.
7. Facilitate Agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives) and contribute to continuous improvement.
8. Conduct and support code reviews within the wider software toolset team.
9. Foster collaboration with vehicle dynamics engineers and other cross-functional teams.
10. Maintain proactive communication with stakeholders and contribute to knowledge-sharing across teams.
Required Skills & Experience:
* Extensive experience in MATLAB programming (including OOP and TDD principles).
* Demonstrated ability to lead software development and architecture at a high level.
* Strong background in Agile delivery methodologies (AGILE/SCRUM).
* Proficient with GitLab, MATLAB, and JIRA.
* Self-driven and capable of working independently and proactively.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; capable of influencing at all levels.
Desirable Skills:
* Understanding of vehicle dynamics principles.
* Experience with data processing tools such as Prosig DATS, LMS, or equivalent.
* Full UK or equivalent driving license.
