The role combines cleaning duties with general premises maintenance and site responsibilities. Your key responsibilities will include: carrying out daily cleaning of classrooms, offices, corridors, toilets, and communal areas sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and polishing floors as appropriate emptying bins and ensuring waste is disposed of correctly cleaning surfaces, fixtures, and fittings to a high standard replenishing consumables such as soap, paper towels, and toilet rolls reporting any cleaning supply shortages undertaking deep cleans throughout the year. Premises and Site Duties: opening and/or closing the school site as required ensuring the security of the building, including locking doors and windows conducting regular checks of the premises to identify maintenance issues carrying out basic repairs and maintenance tasks where appropriate monitoring heating, lighting, and alarm systems ensuring outdoor areas are tidy and safe (including litter picking and basic grounds upkeep). Health and Safety: follow all school health and safety procedures ensure safe use and storage of cleaning chemicals and equipment report hazards, damage, or concerns promptly assist with fire safety checks and emergency procedures.
