E-ACT West Walsall Academy is an 11-18 academy committed to enhancing the life chances of each student and inspiring them to achieve their full potential.
We are looking to appoint an ambitious Head of Year to lead the pastoral development of a specific year group. The role involves championing high standards of behaviour, supporting student wellbeing, and ensuring every student thrives both personally and academically.
Key responsibilities
* Coordinate appropriate interventions for students in the year group whose attendance, behaviour or achievement is a concern.
* Manage and implement all required sanctions.
* Advise first aid staff on sending sick students home where applicable.
* Follow all safeguarding procedures and work closely with child protection leads to ensure identified students are closely monitored.
* Contribute ideas to the development and improvement of pastoral support, assisted by information and experiences of good practice in other establishments.
Pay Range
NJC 15-23: £26,406.93 - £30,285.65 (FTE: £30,024 - £34,434)
37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year – Permanent.
Qualifications and Skills
* Minimum of 5 GCSEs including Maths and English (grade 4-9) or equivalent.
* Proven record of raising standards and pupil achievement.
* Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection issues and procedures.
* Effective behaviour management skills.
