Job Description
An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen to join our Edinburgh Supply Chain (Procurement) function as a Supply Chain Buyer in our Radar and Advanced Targeting line of business. The successful candidate will report to the Supply Chain Team Leader for the specific sector.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage portfolio of external supply chain partners & associated purchase orders.
* Chair regular reviews with suppliers.
* Ensure material supply meets MRP demand.
* Ensure timely issuance and submission of responses to standard SC toolset.
* Be accountable for management of supplier delivery performance throughout the contract lifecycle in line with defined Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
* Identify risk and opportunity, working collaboratively with stakeholders to define mitigation activities.
* Maintain joint action plans.
* Deploy appropriate SAP activity to carry out job effectively (e.g., PO date maintenance).
Key Requirements
* Awareness of Trade / Export Compliance.
* Negotiation skills.
* Ability to influence.
* Effective and flexible communication skills.
* IT literacy: MS Office, Excel & SAP/MRP knowledge.
Nice to have
* CIPS accreditation or working towards it.
* Exposure to defence/aerospace contracting.
