Villette Surgery is a friendly, forward-thinking GP trainingpractice in Hendon, Sunderland, serving just under 6,000 patients within aclose-knit and supportive team environment. The practice is looking for acommitted GP to join for five to six sessions, working with a diverse and oftenunderserved patient population including care homes and learning disabilityservices. This role offers a manageable workload with shared on-callduties, strong clinical support, and excellent opportunities for professionaldevelopment. As a well-established training practice hosting GP registrars andfifth-year medical students, the successful candidate can become involved inteaching, mentorship, and developing specialist interests. The practice ishighly regarded for innovation, patient-centred care, strong QOF performance,and staff wellbeing, with low turnover and a collaborative culture thatsupports clinicians to grow and thrive professionally. Main duties of the job

The role involves delivering high-quality, patient-centredGP care to a diverse and often deprived population within a supportivemultidisciplinary team. Duties include managing routine and on-call clinics,providing care to patients in care homes and learning disability settings,undertaking ward rounds, and contributing to the practices excellent QOFperformance. The successful candidate will also have opportunities to supportthe training of GP registrars and medical students, participate in in-house teaching,and develop specialist clinical interests within an innovative andforward-thinking practice environment. As a long-established training practice, we host GPregistrars and fifth-year medical students, creating a positive learningculture with regular teaching sessions and shared clinical developmentopportunities. Job responsibilities

Job Responsibilities Deliver high-quality, patient-centred GP care through routine and urgent appointments Manage a mixture of face-to-face, telephone, and digital consultations Participate in shared on-call duties and support safe clinical decision-making Provide care to patients within care homes and learning disability settings, including regular ward rounds Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to deliver effective and coordinated care Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to achieving high QOF and clinical governance standards Support and contribute to the training of GP registrars and medical students Attend and participate in regular clinical meetings, teaching sessions, and practice development activities Contribute to service improvement, innovation, and the continued development of the practice Develop and pursue specialist clinical interests where appropriate and supported by the practice Person Specification

Qualifications

Fully qualified General Practitioner with Certificate of Completion of Training or equivalent Registered with the General Medical Council with a licence to practise On the NHS Performers List Evidence of annual appraisal and revalidation (where applicable) Eligible to work in the UK (including work permit where required) Evidence of ongoing continued professional development (CPD) Additional Requirements

Full UK driving licence (if home visits are required) Experience

Experience of working in general practice Disclosure and Barring Service Check
