Job Title: Interim Financial Accountant
Rutherford Cross is partnering with our manufacturing client to appoint an Interim Financial Accountant for a 12-month contract to cover maternity leave. The role is based on the outskirts of Glasgow and offers hybrid working.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Preparing financial and management reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis in line with strict group reporting deadlines.
2. Coordinating and participating in monthly and quarterly reviews of balance sheet reconciliations.
3. Managing and executing forward exchange transactions within the corporate treasury system.
4. Maintaining bank guarantees and monitoring bank account balances within the treasury platform.
5. Leading the year-end audit process, serving as the primary contact for external auditors across UK entities and supported international subsidiaries.
6. Interpreting and applying International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and local GAAP.
7. Preparing statutory accounts under UK GAAP and IFRS for group companies.
8. Supporting the development of rolling financial plans and business forecasts.
9. Preparing Corporation Tax returns for all UK entities.
10. Completing quarterly VAT returns, including those for smaller overseas subsidiaries.
11. Assisting with financial due diligence processes related to potential acquisitions.
12. Reviewing and documenting the internal control environment across the UK finance service centre.
13. Supporting the integration of newly acquired companies into group-wide accounting processes and policies.
14. Preparing deferred tax schedules for group reporting.
15. Driving process harmonisation and continuous improvement initiatives.
16. Supporting internal controls and transfer pricing compliance.
17. Preparing and submitting statutory returns, such as national statistics filings.
18. Participating actively as a key member of the Finance and Purchasing team, offering ad hoc administrative support as needed.
19. Undertaking additional tasks or responsibilities as assigned by the line manager.
