Overview
Neurocore LLC is looking for an Engineering Manager / Maintenance Manager to lead the maintenance department at a large and busy factory. The role offers an opportunity to tackle problems, lead CAPEX projects, drive continuous improvement, and shape the future of the maintenance team within a supportive management environment.
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the Engineering Maintenance Department, including up to 2 Maintenance Team Leaders and 7 multi‑skilled Maintenance Engineers.
* Plan and execute both planned and unplanned maintenance activities, ensuring minimal downtime and high equipment reliability.
* Manage the CMMS system, fostering integration and adoption across the team.
* Participate in hands‑on maintenance when required and inspire the team through active leadership.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives to maximise efficiency within the department.
* Map and coordinate projects and shutdowns throughout the year.
* Analyse and report engineering, OEE, cost and process data to support key targets and objectives.
* Contribute to the ongoing strategic plan of the factory.
* Enhance safety and quality standards by identifying hazards and implementing improvements.
* Handle people‑management duties: recruitment, holiday/absence management, performance appraisals, and coaching.
* Collaborate closely with the production department to help achieve plant productivity goals.
Requirements
* Qualified engineer with electrical or mechanical discipline, ideally with an apprenticeship background.
* Experience in production, manufacturing, industrial or facilities maintenance environments.
* Lead experience with Maintenance Engineers – at a similar level or two steps above a supervisory role.
* Strong problem‑solving skills with a track record of implementing changes and improvements.
* Excellent people‑engagement and management skills, including coaching, mentoring and recognition.

Location
Commutable from Bolton, Preston, Blackburn, Leyland, Salford, Manchester, Wigan, Rochdale, Rufford and surrounding areas.
Salary & Benefits
£52,500 to £60,000 per annum, plus an annual bonus of up to 10%, private health care and other benefits.
Working Hours
Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm or 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
