Business Development Manager - Wound Innovation
The Role:
The University of Hull seeks an experienced Business Development Manager to join the Wound Innovation Centre within the Faculty of Health Sciences. This role offers a unique opportunity to support research growth and develop commercial partnerships in an area with the potential to transform patient care and healthcare delivery.
Working at the intersection of academia and industry, you will lead the development of new collaborations, increasing income from contract research, consultancy, CPD, and other knowledge exchange activities. Your efforts will help position the University as a global leader in wound innovation and ensure our research has a practical impact.
This is a strategic role within the University’s knowledge exchange team, requiring strong relationship-building skills, commercial awareness, and sector knowledge in healthcare and life sciences. You will collaborate with academic colleagues and external partners to align opportunities with the University’s goals for innovation, impact, and global reputation in health research.
Selection Criteria:
* Specialist experience in healthcare and life sciences, with the ability to work independently and provide expert advice.
* A relevant degree or equivalent qualification and/or experience.
* Proven planning and coordination skills, with experience contributing to operational or strategic goals.
* Effective relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and with external partners.
* Strong analytical skills to interpret data for planning and decision-making.
* Ability to build networks and partnerships internally and externally to support service delivery or development.
* Success in generating income through knowledge exchange activities such as contract research, consultancy, CPD programmes, or KTPs.
