About the role/department:
We are seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic and inspirational teacher of maths who is passionate about the subject with a strong desire to help all children see and appreciate the value of maths. The successful candidate will be given a permanent regional contract for our Northern region. The maths department at Outwood Academy Normanby is well equipped with an interactive TV and visualiser in every classroom to support the delivery of lessons. You will be joining an enthusiastic and energetic maths department. Leadership development, succession planning and capacity building are major priorities for the Trust as this enables us to facilitate rapid progression for those who want to advance either in the classroom or at a leadership level. You will be well supported by an experienced team of Directors as you work to raise attainment levels and offer an engaging curriculum experience that focuses on teaching for understanding.
The Mathematics department offers a comprehensive co-curricular programme, encompassing activities such as a thriving Axiom Maths Circle, the Outwood Maths Masters programme, and engagement in national competitions including the UKMT Maths Challenges. We value teachers with the skills and passion to teach high-ability students, and, for the correct candidate, this role may offer such opportunities.
The Academy benefits from being part of the Outwood Family of Schools, which affords opportunities for staff to work and progress across several schools if desired. All staff are guaranteed a minimum of two hours CPD per week and a further comprehensive programme of professional development is provided through our own network of schools.
Applicants must hold UK QTS, if trained overseas, have the relevant evidence that your qualification equates to UK QTS.
