Role: Neurodiversity Complex Case Lead
Location: HMP Send, Ripley Road, Woking, Surrey
The role is part of the Health & Justice team and supports healthcare delivery in a secure environment. The service operates to a 7-day week model to ensure healthcare is managed to high standards. Our motto is "Caring NOT Judging".
Key Responsibilities
* Lead in the identification, assessment, and support of people with Neurodevelopmental Disorders (Autism, ADHD, Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities).
* Provide and/or support adapted psychosocial interventions for individuals whose communication, thinking style, and coping strategies are affected by neurodevelopmental conditions.
* Manage a complex caseload requiring reasonable adjustments to healthcare needs.
* Keep up to date with research, policy and legislation relevant to neurodevelopmental disorders.
* Offer expert consultancy to the Mental Health Team and contribute to person-centred pathways and interventions within the MDT.
* Develop person-centred care plans in collaboration with individuals and their support networks.
* Deliver neurodevelopmental care pathways in line with national specifications for primary and mental healthcare in the prison setting.
* deputise for the line manager when required and participate in Healthcare Management Team activities.
* Flexibly work outside normal hours as required, including weekends.
* Maintain and develop clinical skills; reflect this in the team through training and professional development.
Person Specification – Essential
Education and Qualifications
* Registered Nurse (Mental Health / Learning Disability) with current registration
* Further specialist knowledge or post-registration training
Skills and Knowledge
* Excellent IT skills and experience with electronic patient records; proficient with Microsoft packages
* Ability to work effectively in a team and independently
* Knowledge of CPA, Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, Care Act, MAPPA, safeguarding frameworks, and prison health policies
* Problem solving, conflict resolution, and ability to apply evidence-based practice
* Understanding of neurodevelopmental disorders and experience with screening tools
Experience
* Clinical experience assessing or supporting individuals with Autism, ADHD and/or IDD in health or social care
* Experience with acutely mentally unwell individuals and managing complex needs
* Experience contributing to formulation and differential diagnosis involving ASD/ADHD/IDD

* Ability to work in a secure environment with appropriate clearance (DBS and prison clearance)
Additional Information
Salary: Band 7, £48,270 to £54,931 per annum (full-time equivalent; pro rata if part-time)
