We are looking for an enthusiastic and forward-thinking GP to join our friendly and supportive team at Haslemere Health Centre. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a well-established, forward-thinking practice serving 19,000 patients across our main site based within the grounds of Haslemere Hospital and our branch surgery in Fernhurst.
We pride ourselves on being a welcoming, collaborative practice with a strong multidisciplinary team including GPs, nurses, paramedics, pharmacist, pharmacy technicians, physiotherapist, mental health practitioner and healthcare assistants. We would warmly welcome both newly qualified GPs and more experienced clinicians, and we are happy to support portfolio working and special interests.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will undertake a full range of GP duties in line with the practice timetable, including:
* Holding a patient list
* Routine and same day appointments
* Face-to-face and telephone consultations
* Managing patient queries and clinical correspondence in a timely manner
* Home visits where appropriate
* Reviewing and signing repeat prescriptions
* Making autonomous clinical decisions for undifferentiated and undiagnosed presentations
* Assessing patient health needs and managing acute and chronic conditions
* Screening for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
* Developing and implementing patient care plans in line with best practice and guidelines
* Maintaining accurate and contemporaneous clinical records
* Prescribing in accordance with local and national guidance
* Contributing to audit, quality improvement and practice development initiatives
In general, the post-holder will undertake all duties expected of a GP working in primary care.

We place a strong emphasis on delivering continuity of care to our patients, enabling GPs to build lasting relationships and provide personalised, high‑quality care. We are also committed to reducing GP workload where possible, with strong administrative support in place to assist with tasks such as prescriptions and referrals, helping to minimise administrative burden and enable clinicians to focus on patient care.
Job responsibilities
We are seeking to appoint a friendly, motivated salaried GP for between 4 and 6 sessions per week.
Key responsibilities include:
* Delivering high-quality patient consultations (face‑to‑face, telephone, and online)
* Completing clinical administration and managing patient correspondence
* Participating in multidisciplinary, clinical and practice meetings
* Engaging with training, CPD, and educational opportunities
* Contributing to practice development and service improvement
* Working collaboratively with the wider PCN and ICB where appropriate
We use EMIS clinical system, AccuRx.
Salary is competitive and negotiable depending on experience. We offer 6 weeks annual leave plus bank holidays (pro‑rata for part time) and support ongoing professional development.
5 days study leave per annum (pro rata for part time).
Indemnity cover for the hours worked.
Private medical cover on completion of probation.
Qualifications
* Fully registered with the GMC with licence to practise
* Interest in a clinical specialism or extended role

* Excellent clinical and communication skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Commitment to high‑quality patient care
* Commitment to work a minimum of 4 sessions per week for the health centre
* Experience working in primary care
* Familiarity with clinical systems such as EMIS, Docman, AccuRx
