Casual Clerical Assistant - Secondary

£13.28 Per hour
We are looking for well-motivated and organised people to join our casual Clerical Assistant - Secondary staff pool. You will be required to work as and when required in various schools. Casual staff will be contacted by Schools asking them if they are available to cover, detailing the school and the hours required.
Applicants must be educated to SCQF Level 5 (e.g., Standard Grade) or equivalent in relevant subjects (see person specification) and qualifications must be presented at interview. Experience in dealing with the public and/or children and experience of working in an office environment are desirable. An aptitude for PC work and good general knowledge of office systems and equipment is required. You must be flexible with a pleasant manner, interpersonal skills and a full understanding of the need for absolute confidentiality. Knowledge of Financial Record Keeping and procedures is desirable.
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
