We have a new vacancy for a Merchandiser to join our Buying team on the DIY category. In this role, you will be working alongside an experienced Buyer, with the day-to-day running of a busy department. The role is full time office-based, at our Support Centre in Speke, Liverpool L24.
The key accountabilities in the role are:
* Assisting with the creation of weekly core stock orders, managing orders into the business efficiently.
* Driving performance for key trading periods i.e. new product range launches, seasonal peaks etc.
* Analysing data & current trends to make the right decisions, identifying “gaps“ in the market.
* Cultivating close working relationships with key suppliers, to maximise sales/profit throughout the range.
* Working to tight restrictions, ensuring stock is maintained at the correct levels.
* Maintaining and updating WSSI’s & line cards on a daily basis.
* Proficient in the use of Excel, developing reports that communicate the relevant information.
The ideal candidate will have the following experience/skills:
* Already an experienced Merchandiser, or a Junior Merchandiser who is ready to step up.
* Results orientated with a track record of achieving targets & delivering growth.
* Strong negotiation, communication, interpersonal and influencing skills.
* Able to build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers.
* Strong numerical and analytical skills, methodical with numbers.
* Able to utilise data to fully understand customer behaviour and habits.
* Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, in particular Excel.
