We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a Trust Resident Doctor (ST3 equivalent) to join our dynamic Lung Cancer, Respiratory team. This post is ideal for a senior trainee seeking to develop expertise in lung cancer and interventional respiratory medicine.
The successful candidate will gain hands‑on experience in EBUS and pleural procedures, while developing key skills in lung cancer diagnostics, multidisciplinary team working, and outpatient care. The role offers a structured and supportive environment with dedicated training opportunities in bronchoscopy and pleural disease management. This is a fixed‑term 12‑month position (01/09/2026 – 31/08/2027).
Responsibilities
* Assessment and management of patients with suspected and confirmed lung cancer, including those on the 2‑week wait (2WW) pathway.
* Participation in Lung Cancer MDT meetings, including preparation and follow‑up of patient management plans.
* Attendance at lung cancer and general respiratory outpatient clinics.
* Involvement in weekly EBUS lists and pleural procedure sessions.
* Coordination of diagnostic investigations and patient pathways.
* Support of the respiratory ward, including patients requiring advanced respiratory support.
Additional Information
The management responsibility of the post-holder will be to the Clinical Lead for Lung Cancer, Dr Andy Barlow.
