As a Consultant Old Age Psychiatrist, your skills, knowledge, and experience are critical to the successful provision of psychiatric services for older patients or those with similar needs at SSSFT - Hall Court - Telford. Main Duties/Responsibilities
As an Old Age Psychiatric Consultant with Midlands Partnership NHSFT Mental Health, you will:
* Carry out referral assessments, deliver therapy, and follow up with medication reviews.
* Formulate care and treatment plans, prescribe treatments, and guide evidence-based practices.
* Support patients and families, communicating diagnoses and treatment options clearly.
* Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team on patient care decisions.
* Lead or participate in multidisciplinary team activities.
* Assess and prioritise patient needs, delegate tasks effectively.
* Monitor and report on patient conditions and changes.
* Perform administrative tasks like record-keeping, prescriptions, and treatment monitoring.
* Teach and train junior doctors, medical students, and team members.
Qualifications/Licenses/Certifications
Essential
* MBChB or equivalent
* Hold CCT or CESR at interview or be in an established training programme within six months of CCT
* Inclusion on GMC's Specialist Register or within 6 months of CCT or CESR (CP)
* Recent NHS experience within the last 3 years
