Job Summary
The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is the largest orthopaedic unit in Europe and a leading specialist centre for bone and soft‑tissue cancers. The pharmacy service now operates from a newly refurbished space featuring an Omnicell robot and trust‑wide EPMA. This role will contribute to medicines management, clinical pharmacy projects and multidisciplinary team activities, supporting high‑quality care across the hospital.
Responsibilities
* Deliver high‑quality pharmaceutical care to patients and carers, attending ward rounds and multidisciplinary team meetings for surgical patients.
* Collaborate with medicines‑management technicians to provide an integrated pharmacy service.
* Use the trust EPMA system to improve medication reconciliation, prescribing, administration and discharge planning.
* Develop and apply clinical pharmacy expertise through continuous personal development.
* Act as a role‑model and champion clinical pharmacy practice, supporting quality improvement and medicines optimisation initiatives.
* Work autonomously within professional guidelines, ensuring safe and effective medicine use.
Qualifications
* Essential: Registered Pharmacist with the GPhC.
* Desirable: PG Pharmacy Clinical Diploma or equivalent; Independent Prescribing qualification (or working toward it).
Experience
* Essential: Significant experience in an acute NHS trust.
* Desirable: Previous use of electronic patient record systems.
Knowledge
* Essential: Clinical experience across a range of specialities and demonstrated multidisciplinary working.
* Desirable: Leadership experience.
Salary & Working Hours
* Band 7 – £47,810 to £54,710 per annum (pro rata if part time).
* Contract: Fixed term – 12 months.
* Working pattern: Full‑time, part‑time, flexible working arrangements available.
