Your Role
As a Project Engineer, you will support the Project Manager and wider team to ensure the successful delivery of substation projects. You will be accountable for the planning, design, delivery, monitoring, commissioning, and final handover of our projects.
Responsibilities
* Leading the definition and implementation of engineered delivery solutions.
* Briefing project teams and managing effective execution of plans.
* Supporting project delivery across all stages: planning, construction, commissioning, and close‑out.
* Lead and attend project reviews and meetings.
* Maintain accurate project records and prepare internal/external reports.
* Ensure safety, quality, and stakeholder communication.
* Contribute to risk and opportunity reviews and safety initiatives.
* Write and review RAMS and accept subcontractor RAMS.
* Ensure compliance with safety legislation and H&S management system.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in substation engineering within power transmission and distribution.
* Strong project management acumen with an engineering mindset.
* Excellent communication and leadership skills.
* Committed to safety, quality, and collaborative success.
* HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
* AutoCAD qualification.
* Experience with DNOs in the EHV industry preferable.
* Formal qualifications in construction/engineering (APM PFQ/PMQ, CSCS, SMSTS).
* Experience in implementing safe systems of work and managing risks.
