Housing Support Worker Homelessness ServicesAn excellent opportunity for a Housing Support Worker to join a supported housing and homelessness service in Oxford. You will support vulnerable adults with tenancy support, safeguarding, resident wellbeing, housing management and supported accommodation services within a residential housing environment.If youve also worked in the following roles, wed also like to hear from you: Homeless Support Worker, Supported Housing Worker, Residential Support Worker, Tenancy Support Worker, Hostel Support WorkerThis is officially known within the organisation as a Homeless Project WorkerSALARY: £24,479 to £26,000 per annum Actual (£20,972 to £22,285 Pro Rata for 30 Hours) + BenefitsLOCATION: Oxford, Oxfordshire, South East England (OX4) Fully Office BasedJOB TYPE: Part-Time, 12 months Fixed Term ContractWORKING HOURS: 30 hours per weekWeek 1: Wednesday 14:00 20:00, Thursday and Friday 08:00 20:00Week 2: Monday and Tuesday 14:00 20:00, Saturday 08:00 14:00, Sunday 08:00 20:00JOB OVERVIEWWe have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Housing Support Worker to join a supported accommodation and community housing team delivering housing management and resident support services.Working as the Housing Support Worker you will provide tenancy support, safeguarding, wellbeing monitoring and practical housing support for vulnerable adults living within supported housing accommodation. You will also assist with building safety, resident engagement, housing management and homelessness support services.As a Housing Support Worker you will develop positive relationships with residents, support agencies and community organisations while ensuring health and safety, accurate records, supported housing procedures and resident wellbeing standards are maintained.DUTIESYour duties as the Housing Support Worker Homelessness Services include:Conducting Building Inspections: Identify maintenance issues and report repairs to the appropriate teamsMaintaining Building Safety: Carry out patrols, CCTV monitoring, alarm testing and security checks across the supported accommodation serviceManaging Resident Support: Provide practical tenancy support and assist vulnerable residents with settling into accommodationSupporting Housing Management Activities: Assist with resident sign-ups, viewings and housing management proceduresPromoting Resident Wellbeing: Monitor resident welfare and signpost individuals to homelessness, housing and community support servicesMaintaining Accurate Records: Complete visitor logs, incident reports, safeguarding records and housing management documentationSupporting Safeguarding Procedures: Report concerns relating to vulnerable adults using the correct safeguarding processesEncouraging Resident Engagement: Support consultation activities and help residents remain informed about accommodation servicesBuilding Professional Relationships: Maintain positive working relationships with residents, support providers and external agenciesProviding Key Holder Duties: Manage building access and supervise contractors or visitors where requiredCANDIDATE REQUIREMENTSESSENTIALEducated to GCSE level or equivalent in Maths and EnglishPrevious experience in housing support, homelessness services, supported accommodation, care or community support workUnderstanding of safeguarding procedures and supporting vulnerable adultsAbility to build positive relationships with residents, colleagues and external support agenciesGood organisational skills with the ability to maintain accurate records and follow confidentiality proceduresAbility to use IT systems, management information systems and standard Microsoft Office applicationsStrong communication skills and the ability to work within a resident-focused housing environmentDESIRABLENVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Health and Social Care or willingness to work towards qualificationExperience with supported housing, tenancy support or homelessness servicesA background in residential support, housing management or community care servicesBENEFITS25 days holiday pro rata plus Bank HolidaysUp to 8% contributory pensionAnnual health and lifestyle allowance of up to £300 for you and your familyThis role requires an enhanced DBS checkThe organisation recognises that some people will only apply for a role if they meet 100% of role requirements.If this sounds like you, theyd still encourage you to apply should you not feel you meet the criteria 100%.APPLY TODAYBy submitting your job application to us you are hereby giving us your express consent to submit your details to our Client for this purpose.JOB REF: AWDO-C14699Part-Time, Fixed Term Contract Jobs, Careers and Vacancies.
