We currently have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Dispensary Manager in a well organised community pharmacy. You will be responsible for the day to day pharmacy operations ensuring all of the operational & compliance processes are in place and working, Dispensing prescriptions, ensuring our people are developed and inspired, ensuring pharmacy services are delivered to an exceptional standard and building fantastic relationships with our local healthcare partners & GP's.

The successful candidate will be given ongoing support and training to help them train and manage the dispensary team, as well as develop their ideas and focus on achieving the company's goals and patient safety.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
* Responsible for the day to day operational management of the dispensary shop floor and retail sales area
* Dispensing and labelling prescriptions (electronic and paper) including preparation or directing the preparation of prescribed medicaments in liquid, powder, tablet, ointment or other form following prescriptions issued by medical doctors and other health professionals
* Checks that recommended doses are not being exceeded and ensure that instructions are understood by patients.
* Check dispensed medications against prescriptions and rectify any errors made by dispensers.
* Highlight a drug's potential side effects, identify harmful interactions with other drugs and assess the suitability of treatments for patients with particular health conditions
* Maintain prescription files and record issue of narcotics, poisons and other habit-forming drugs.
* Ensure drug alerts by MHRA are actioned and liaise with other professionals regarding the development, manufacturing and testing of drugs or for any prescription or drug related queries or advice.
* Recording patient interventions and sign posting them to appropriate health clinics in case of a need, health promotion.
* Ensure and maintain compliance with ethical, professional and legal pharmacy standards at all times and to keep up to date with regulatory and statutory requirements within the pharmacy
* Ensure all prescriptions are fully and accurately endorsed.
* Accountability for ensuring month end submissions to the PPA is on time.
* Advise other healthcare professionals on the selection of available appropriate medications for particular conditions.
* Ensure medicines and other medical equipment are in good supply and are stored properly.
* Manage staff according to work load.
Key Skills, Qualifications and experience required
* Masters or bachelor Degree in pharmacy or equivalent level qualification.
* Relevant experience in managing Dispensary and OTC products desirable.
* Excellent pharmaceutical knowledge with a good understanding of pharmacology and therapeutics
* Sound knowledge about drug tariff, BNF and PSNC website.
* A thorough understand of the NHS and the business of pharmacy
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Quick learner who can work efficiently under pressure
* A strong ability to plan, prioritise and organise workload and to refer problems as necessary
* Attention to detail
* Good time management skills
* Ability to work independently and as an effective team worker in a fast-paced environment
* Effective customer service skills
