Location: Island of Hoy, Orcades Practice Hoy Branch, Orkney. This is a permanent, part-time GP position within a small island community.
Role details
* Contract: Permanent; Part-time
* Environment: Be a single-handed GP in a wider team of GPs and Nurses; on-call 24/7 with support from a community nurse 5 days per week
* Leave and time off: 18 weeks plus annual leave and study leave (equates to 21.18 weeks)
* Salary and benefits: £100,728 - £115,167 (dependent on experience) plus 45% enhancement for 24/7 cover plus Distant Islands Allowance, all pro rata

What you’ll do
* Be an important part of a small island community and provide holistic care in a remote, but supported environment
* Work in rotation, typically in chunks of three weeks at a time
* Collaborate with colleagues through weekly videoconferences to share knowledge and counter professional isolation
* Engage in pre-hospital emergency care; training and standardised equipment/protocols are provided
* Utilise study and annual leave allocations to maintain and develop skills
Location and lifestyle
The community is cohesive, vibrant and supportive with an excellent school, leisure facilities, wildlife and scenery. Orkney has good transport links to mainland UK, including daily flights from Kirkwall (about an hour to the four major Scottish airports).
