Maintenance Technician/General Handyman/Builder
Retroclassic Engineering specialise in the restoration and repair of a wide range of vintage, classic, retro and future classic cars, along with carrying out bespoke modifications and 'restomod' conversions.
We are currently renovating to a high standard multiple sites which include both office and industrial spaces and we are looking for candidates who have experience in a wide range of DIY tasks which may include; general building tasks/site maintenance, erecting stud walls, concreting, painting & decorating, woodwork/basic carpentry, dry help improve and maintain our site. All works are to be carried out to an extremely high standard, suitable for a customer facing environment.
This role is split between two sites - one site based in Nailsworth, Gloucestershire and the other at our main site in Moreton Valence, Gloucestershire. The ability to commute easily and independently to both locations is essential.
This vacancy is either available on temporary/part time/flexible/freelance basis up to 40 hours per week. This role has the potential to lead in to a long term position within the business.
Your responsibilities may include;
· General building/site maintenance and improvement works
· Painting walls & floors including floor sanding
· Flooring works including laying carpet tiles, fitting skirting boards
· Insulation and cladding of industrial buildings
· Woodwork/carpentry/general building work including stud walls/dry lining
· Equipment maintenance/improvements as required by the business
· Assisting the office/workshops with miscellaneous tasks as required
· Van driving and collection/delivery of vehicle parts - local and nationwide
· Basic Electrical works – installation of lights, sockets, cable running
· Basic Plumbing works – running pipes, installation of hose reels
· General handyman/DIY skills and experience in general building maintenance/improvements
Desirable skills for this role include;
· Fork lift truck driving experience/licence is desirable but not essential (training can be provided if needed)
· Van driving experience is desirable but not essential
· Trailer towing and vehicle transportation experience is desirable but not essential
All candidates are expected to;
· Take pride in the quality of their work and carry out all tasks to the highest of standards
· Hold a Full UK Manual Driving Licence
· Be able to work independently to meet strict deadlines, and work well as part of a team
· Possess a strong work ethic, a high level of attention to detail, and be punctual/organised
This role is available as a flexible/part time position with varied hours subject to the needs of the business and availability of the applicant between Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm (overtime at time and a half is available outside of these hours).
All candidates must live within a reasonable commuting distance of our premises in Moreton Valance, Gloucestershire, GL2 7LZ.
Rate: £13.50-£15.00 per hour, dependent on experience.
