Fire Alarm Engineer – Essex & Kent
Location: Field-based (primarily across Essex and Kent)
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time (40 hours/week, Monday to Friday)
About the Role
We’re looking for a skilled and reliable Fire Alarm Engineer to join our growing team. In this field-based role, you'll be responsible for delivering planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs, and commissioning of fire/life safety systems. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring our clients remain compliant and protected, providing peace of mind through your expertise and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities

Perform routine servicing and commissioning of a variety of fire alarm and life safety systems

Carry out reactive maintenance and fault-finding on fire detection systems
*
Produce accurate service reports for all site visits to ensure compliance with relevant standards
*
Follow work instructions and company policies, while upholding Health & Safety best practices
*
Maintain clear and accurate documentation to support high-quality service delivery
*
Participate in the team’s on-call rota for emergency response
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
*
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in servicing and commissioning fire alarm systems
*
Solid understanding of relevant British Standards, particularly those covering maintenance and commissioning
*
Valid CSCS or ECS card
*
Full, clean UK manual driving licence
*
Strong safety mindset with a collaborative and proactive approach
*
Comfortable using IT systems, including tablets and digital reporting tools
Desirable:
*
Certification from Fire Alarm manufacturers and/or FIA BS5839 Fundamentals
*
Familiarity with systems from manufacturers such as Morley, Kentec, Advanced, Notifier, Ziton, Hyfire, EDA
*
Experience with Emergency Lighting systems
*
Asbestos Awareness Certification
*
First Aid Qualification
