Library Manager | 9017 | Permanent Contract | 37 hours per week | £34,434 to £36,363 per annum (Scale H) | East Dereham, Watton and Hingham Libraries
We are looking for an experienced team leader who can deliver operational front-line library services, creating a safe and welcoming environment for customers. You will have experience of supervising staff and dealing efficiently with operational procedures. You will be able to model excellent customer service during a time of change, supporting your team with lone working, increasing volunteer roles, and supporting the Open Libraries programme. We are looking for someone who is highly motivated and keen to contribute to the success of the public offer.
Responsibilities
* Deliver operational front-line library services and create a safe, welcoming environment for customers.
* Supervise staff and manage operational procedures effectively.
* Model excellent customer service during periods of change; support the team with lone working and increasing volunteer roles; support the Open Libraries programme.
* Promote, advocate and market the library service; monitor and improve the performance of the libraries you manage.
* Ensure building processes, procedures and general administrative tasks are completed accurately; direct on-site staff in frontline duties.
* Use social media to engage with the local community; understand community needs and work to targets with deadlines; negotiate for strong outcomes.
* Act as an advocate for the library service; communicate effectively and inspire others; champion of change.
* Travel and work evenings and weekends as required.

* Experience of supervising staff and handling operational procedures.
* Strong people skills and the ability to engage with diverse communities.
* Ability to use social media and understand local community needs.
* Ability to work to targets, meet deadlines, and negotiate for outcomes.
* Excellent communication and motivational abilities; ability to inspire others and drive change.
