An excellent opportunity has become available for a Principal Geoenvironmental Consultant to join a leading multidisciplinary consultancy in London. This role is ideal for an experienced consultant looking to take on a senior technical and client-facing position within a growing environmental and geotechnical team delivering major projects across the UK.
The successful Principal Geoenvironmental Consultant will lead and manage a wide range of land contamination, brownfield redevelopment, and environmental assessment projects across sectors including residential, commercial, infrastructure, and industrial development. You will play a key role in project delivery, mentoring junior staff, developing client relationships, and supporting business growth.
The successful Principal Geoenvironmental Consultant will be responsible for:
Managing geoenvironmental and contaminated land projects from inception through to completion
Overseeing Phase 1 and Phase 2 site investigations and remediation strategies
Producing and reviewing technical reports including risk assessments and validation reports
Liaising with clients, regulators, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams
Providing technical leadership and mentoring junior consultants
Supporting business development activities and preparing fee proposals
Managing project finances, resources, and programme deliveryThe successful Principal Geoenvironmental Consultant will have:
A degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering Geology, or a related discipline
Significant consultancy experience within contaminated land and geoenvironmental engineering
Strong knowledge of UK contaminated land legislation and guidance
Experience managing complex projects and client relationships
Chartered status or progression towards chartership
Excellent report writing and communication skills
