We are seeking a Benefits Support Specialist to provide information to older adults and persons with disabilities about the types, ranges, requirements, and availability of benefits and supports. You will assist applicants and OCES staff on MassHealth coverage, eligibility, and enrollment matters.
What you will do:
* Act as a resource for Consumers benefit eligibility information, application assistance or navigation to application assistance for any COVID-19 pandemic related program or services, including the end of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Emergency Allotment and the end of the continuous coverage provision period for Medicaid (MassHealth).
* Assist and facilitate individuals with completion of Medicaid applications or renewals.
* Participate with the Massachusetts Health Care Training Forum (MTF) listserv to stay up to date on public health insurance information.
* Home visits as required.
* Provide information and training to OCES staff about the full range of insurance programs offered by EOHHS or CMS.
What you will bring:
* Bachelor's degree in social work, counseling or benefits related field.
* Current Social Work License preferred.
* Current Certified Application Counselor (CAC) or ability to obtain within four weeks of hire.
* Current SHINE certification or ability to obtain.
* Two years' experience coordinating benefits.
* Your passion to make a difference in the lives of others.
* Working knowledge of procedures and practices related to available health insurance benefits.
* Knowledge of MassHealth application and renewal processes.
* Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
