Rehabilitation Assistant – Stroud
Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting enthusiastic and motivated individuals to support people in their communities, providing short‑term services to help them regain independence after hospital stays or injury.
Responsibilities
Provide personal care, meal preparation, medication support and supervise exercise programmes as part of the Reablement and Home First Team.
Deliver care in clients’ homes 7 days a week, 07:00–22:00, with full‑time and part‑time roles on varied shift patterns (e.g., 4 on, 4 off; 2 on, 6 off).
Assist clients in maintaining their independence and develop personal care plans.
Participate in supervision, reflective practice and training, including achieving the Care Certificate and potentially progressing to a Level 3 Healthcare Support Worker apprenticeship.
Qualifications & Experience
* Evidence of literacy and numeracy skills; GCSE pass or equivalent (Level 2 Functional skills Maths and English).
* NVQ in a relevant topic (e.g., healthcare) or other relevant training.
* Care Certificate (required).
* Experience working with people, their families and carers in challenging situations.
* Experience providing personal and intimate care in a health or social care environment.
* Comfortable with IT systems and willing to be trained in specific systems.
* Experience working in the community and in people’s own homes.
* Demonstrated ability to motivate people and encourage independence.
Prerequisites
Applicants must have an unrestricted right to work in the UK and hold a valid UK driving licence with access to a vehicle for work. This role does not meet sponsorship criteria.
Salary
£25,272 to £27,476 per annum, pro rata.
