Glasgow Clinical Research Facility Project Assistant Band 4

The Glasgow Clinical Research Facility incorporates Clinical Research Facilities at the QEUH/RHC and GRI, with satellite units at the Royal Alexandra Hospital, Gartnavel General Hospital, and the Dental Hospital. Jointly they provide a streamlined service to investigators to conduct their clinical research efficiently and safely.

We are recruiting a motivated, organised and enthusiastic Project Assistant who, as part of a multidisciplinary team, will provide comprehensive administrative and technical support to Investigators and members of the mental health research team. You will work closely with the Quality team and Research Nurse Manager to assist the study team in providing specialist research to research participants and will regularly work unsupervised throughout various locations/GCRF sites.

The Clinical Research Facility has cover from 08:00-17:00 Monday to Friday; predominantly the hours are 08:30-16:30 but a flexible approach is required to meet the needs of mental health research studies and the mood disorders research clinic.


Duration, Location, and Working Pattern

This is a fixed‑term post until 31 January 2028, 36 hours per week. Part‑time hours will be considered a secondment or job‑share opportunity.

The role is based at Institute of Neurological Science, QEUH, G51 4TF. The ability to travel between all sites within NHS GGC is also essential.

Shift pattern: Monday to Friday 08:30-16:30 (flexibility to meet service needs).


Key Responsibilities

* Provide administrative support to the Glasgow Mood Disorders Research Clinic as directed by clinic leads.
* Provide a dedicated, professional project assistant service to research personnel to support the management of the project outcomes.
* Effectively coordinate specified components of research projects utilizing time‑management and organisational skills.
* As part of a multidisciplinary team, the post holder will provide project‑specific technical support for patients or healthy volunteers in a range of research protocols and will regularly work unsupervised.
* Contribute to the provision of a high‑quality, safe and supportive environment to care for patients within the Glasgow Clinical Research Facility (GCRF).
* Coordinate and effectively manage identified components to ensure appropriate resources are in place to support projects.


Requirements

* Previous clerical/administration experience or recognised qualification in administration.
* Previous relevant NHS or other relevant experience in a care environment.
* Ability to use MS Outlook and applications proficiently.
* Effective written and verbal communication / literacy / numeracy skills.
* Evidence of team‑working skills with an ability to work using own initiative.
* Ability to carry out complex technical tasks in a busy environment.
* Ability to work travel across hospital sites in NHS GGC.
