Join Thornford Park in Thatcham as a Maintenance Assistant, where you will be part of creating a well-presented and safe environment for some of the most vulnerable people in society.
As a Maintenance Assistant, you will be responsible for ensuring the service's facilities are fit for purpose, gardening, and regularly conducting audits to identify and repair faults, ensuring a safe environment for service users, staff, and visitors.
Working alongside an established team, you will handle all maintenance-related tasks, liaising with contractors to support the upkeep of the service.

As a Maintenance Assistant, you will have:
* Assisting with ensuring that the service, buildings, facilities, and equipment are maintained and fit for purpose.
* Utilising good DIY skills to ensure the safety of service users is maintained.
* Assisting in regular checks and maintenance.
* Assisting in the repair and maintenance of all buildings.
* Assisting in all decorating tasks.
* Liaising with a manager to report faults and defects.
* Participating in a 1-week rotating on-call rota for emergency maintenance.
* Supporting contractors on-site and completing all necessary paperwork and tool checks.
To be successful in this role, you will:
* Comply with systems and procedures.
* Have previous experience in a maintenance role.
* Work effectively as part of a team and independently.
* Show courtesy and respect at all times to ensure high-quality service.
* Attend and participate in training sessions and staff meetings.
Where you will be working: Thornford Park, Crookham Hill, Thatcham, Berkshire, RG19 8ET
You will work at Thornford Park, which includes medium secure and low secure units and rehabilitation flats. The service provides a seamless care pathway supporting and empowering patients in their recovery and rehabilitation.
You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team to provide personalized assessment and treatment programs for individuals with mental illness, complex care needs, or personality disorders. Service users may have histories of offending and/or have failed in previous placements.
