Job Summary
As a Children Service Locality Manager, your primary responsibility is to oversee and manage the delivery of services and support for children and families within a specific locality or area. Your role involves coordinating and leading a team of professionals to ensure the effective implementation of programs and initiatives to promote the well‑being and development of children.
Key Responsibilities
* Strategic planning: Developing and implementing strategies and plans to improve the quality and accessibility of services for children and families in the locality.
* Team management: Leading and supervising a team of professionals, including social workers, counselors, and support staff. This involves providing guidance, support and performance management to ensure the team’s effectiveness.
* Service delivery: Overseeing the delivery of services and support to children and families, ensuring they are aligned with legal requirements, policies and best practices. This includes monitoring service quality, evaluating outcomes and making necessary improvements.
* Collaboration and partnership: Building and maintaining effective partnerships and collaborations with other agencies, community organisations and stakeholders working with children and families. This includes networking, attending meetings and fostering positive relationships to enhance service provision.
* Budgeting and resource management: Managing budgets and resources effectively, ensuring efficient use of available funding and assets to achieve desired outcomes.
* Policy development and compliance: Keeping up-to-date with relevant legislation, policies and guidelines related to child welfare and services. Developing and implementing local policies and procedures to ensure compliance and adherence to standards.
* Safeguarding and risk management: Ensuring the safety and well‑being of children by implementing robust safeguarding procedures, risk assessments and appropriate interventions when necessary.
