Title: Bid Writer Salary range: £46,000 to £69,000 per annum Location: This role will mostly be remote, and can be based from any of our UK offices. Working Pattern: We operate a flexible hybrid working pattern at Frazer-Nash, with time split between the office, client sites and working from home. Closing date is June 5th 2026, but early applications are encouraged. Working as part of a respected consulting organisation, the Bid Writer will have both an internal and external-facing role, working within the Strategic Pursuits team to develop FNC bids and proposals, Expressions of Interest, Pre-Qualification Questionnaires, Invitations to Tender and other forms of tender documentation, as well as working with partner organisations and consortia members to develop written content for inclusion in joint/collective bids and proposal activities. Responsibilities include: • Managing the development of storyboards and Response plans • Contributing to the development of compliant and compelling proposals • Ensuring proposals are accurate, complete and represent the company’s experience, capability and value propositions • Engaging with and soliciting information and written content from technical subject matter experts (SMEs) • Transforming complex technical content sourced from technical experts into a clear and concise narrative, incorporating appropriate win themes and sales messaging • Supporting the Bid and/or Capture Manager in the development of win themes that reflect our value proposition • Developing a good understanding of the awarding authority’s vision, strategy, and plans in order to identify business generation opportunities • Supporting the Bid Manager, when required, in the execution of proposal governance reviews • Playing a leading role in the keeping the bid content library current and fit for purpose • Treating both individual and collective continuous improvement as a business-as-usual activity • Contributing proactively to increasing win rates • Acting as an ambassador for Strategic Pursuits at all time, engaging professionally and identifying opportunities for the delivery of additional value. Essential Qualities The Bid Writer will: • Understand the principles of bid writing best practice • Have demonstrable experience in bid writing • Have an appreciation of the rules and regulations governing the UK public sector tendering process • Possess clear and effective written and verbal communication skills • Have strong interpersonal skills and present a professional approach when acting as an ambassador for Strategic Pursuits • Work proficiently across the Microsoft Office suite of products, including Excel, Teams, Word, PowerPoint, and CoPilot, as well as additional productivity-enhancing tools such as CoPilot • Be highly motivated, with an adaptable approach to work • Have the ability to work individually and as part of a team • Have the ability to handle several tasks at once and work to tight deadlines • Demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, and a thorough, methodical approach Desirable Qualities The Bid Writer will, preferably: • Hold an undergraduate degree in a writing-intensive subject • Have experience of working in the Defence, Transport, or Technology industries • Have strong research skills and an inquisitive mindset • Be adaptable, persistent, and resilient Due to the nature of the work that Frazer-Nash Consultancy undertake, candidates will be required to undergo pre-employment screening and must be able to satisfy clearance criteria for UK National Security Vetting.
