Lead SOC Analyst - 12m FTC

Role Overview:
This growing security team is strengthening its 24/7 operations and needs an experienced SOC professional to help keep critical systems safe. You’ll play a key role in spotting, assessing, and responding to threats before they become incidents.

What You’ll Be Doing:
* Monitoring SIEM and other security tooling to spot unusual activity and emerging threats.
* Assessing alerts, digging into logs, and quickly determining what needs escalating.
* Taking initial incident response actions, including containment and system isolation.
* Producing clear documentation and incident reports for tracking and ongoing analysis.
* Supporting junior team members and ensuring smooth shift handovers.
* Helping maintain, improve, and optimise SOC tooling and monitoring processes.
* Collaborating closely with the wider security team to maintain strong detection and response capabilities.
* Using your knowledge of SPLUNK within a SOC environment to enhance visibility and analysis.
Main Skills Needed:
* Solid SOC or cyber operations experience, ideally at Level 2.
* Knowledge of networking fundamentals, operating systems, and common attack techniques.
* Confident analysing logs, alerts, and events within SIEM platforms.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work calmly under pressure.
* Relevant cyber qualifications or certifications (Security+, CySA+, etc.) are beneficial but not essential.
