Overview
As a Customer Delivery Driver, you will deliver Tesco shopping to customers’ homes and provide great service with a smile. The role involves both driving and customer interaction, with support from managers and colleagues back at base.
Responsibilities
* Delivering your part of our customer shopping trip by ensuring the van and trays are clean and organized.
* Leaving the back yard clean, tidy and free of rubbish, and picking up litter as you see it.
* Washing trays as part of the tray wash process.
* Loading the van as required and checking the van for roadworthiness.
* Talking to customers about changes to their order, including short code items and substitutions, and offering refunds for items they are unhappy with.
* Taking care of products/deliveries as if they were your own.
* Explaining substitutions to customers and ensuring they are not charged extra.
* Delivering within the customer’s time slot and calling the customer before arriving if early.
* Calling the store/centre if you are more than 30 minutes late.
You will need
* Build relationships with colleagues to create team spirit and ensure the store serves customers well.
* Be warm and welcoming in interactions with customers and colleagues, taking time to understand the customer and say thank you.
* Be adaptable to changing customer needs and positive about store changes.
* Be energetic and driven to deliver beyond expectations and balance home and work life.
* Share ideas with your Manager and colleagues on store improvements.
* Valid UK/EU/EEA Driving licence (Full or Automatic only) for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points.
