Dimensions is looking for a Female Support Worker to join our friendly team in Darlington, supporting a lady and a gentleman to live active, fulfilling and independent lives. Shifts will include a mixture of: 15:00-21:00 15:00-18:00 09:00-23:00 sleep-in followed by 07:00 - 09:00 The people we support are in their 50s and 60s. They have learning disabilities, and one person has Down's Syndrome. They live full, happy lives and are looking for a Support Worker who can help them enjoy the things they love, such as: - Attending a day centre - Swimming - Visiting a favourite social club - Listening to music - Spending time with family and friends - Trips out for coffee and cake - Enjoying relaxing downtime at home One of the people we support is very lively, loud and sociable. She loves being the centre of attention and responds best to upbeat, positive staff. Clear communication and distraction techniques are already in place to support her. She would also like you to know that she uses a wheelchair for mobility. What Will I Be Doing? As a Support Worker, you will empower both individuals to live the life they choose. Your role will include: - Supporting with personal care - Helping with shopping, finances and household tasks - Assisting with cooking and meal preparation - Encouraging independence and building confidence - Providing safe and supportive transport to activities Both people we support have their own vehicles, so a full UK/EU manual driving licence is essential.
