Apprentice Nursery Assistant - Level 2/3 – Early Years Practitioner/Educator
Hours per week: 37 hours (plus 6 paid off the job hours to be completed outside of working hours) | Weeks per year: 51.1 weeks (6.5 weeks paid holiday, including Bank Holidays) | Hours of work: 7.30am‑6.30pm (to be decided at interview/offer stage) | Salary: National Apprenticeship Rate (£7.55 per hour) | Annual Salary: £14,274, plus £1,970 for 6 off‑the‑job learning hours (once officially signed up for the course)
Chapel Hill Nursery offers an exciting opportunity for individuals who are new to early years and wish to undertake a Level 2 apprenticeship or those who already hold a Level 2 qualification and wish to progress to Level 3.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide safe, high‑quality education and care for children aged 2‑4 years as part of the nursery team.
* Act as a key worker for a small group of children, ensuring each child's needs are recognised and met.
* Teach children and offer an appropriate level of support and stimulation.
* Liaise closely with parents/carers and maintain open communication.
* Set up sessions, tidy away at the end of the session and maintain a clean working environment.
* Attend meetings and training courses as appropriate and undertake any other reasonable duties directed by the room lead.
* Support the school's after‑school provision for nursery and school‑aged children from 3pm onwards, which is based in the Nursery.

Qualifications & Experience
* Passion for working with children and a caring, dedicated and enthusiastic attitude.
* Excellent people and communication skills and flexibility to adapt to changing situations.
* Ideally, a Level 2 qualification in early years or relevant experience.
