Overview
Our client is a well‑known and respected local law firm with offices across South Yorkshire. The firm has built a strong reputation within the legal community and is recognised for its friendly and supportive working environment. Following a sustained period of growth and increased workload, the firm is now looking to appoint an additional solicitor into its Criminal Defence department. This opportunity is ideal for a solicitor looking to further develop their career within criminal law.
Position
The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload of both privately funded and legal aid criminal defence matters across South Yorkshire. You will represent clients at all stages of the legal process, from initial police station attendance through to case conclusion.
The role will involve handling a broad range of matters, including police cautions, Magistrates' Court proceedings, and Crown Court cases. You will be responsible for providing clear legal advice, preparing cases, and representing clients with professionalism and attention to detail throughout.

This is a full‑time, permanent position based in Sheffield City Centre, offering a salary in the region of £30,000 to £50,000 depending on experience (NQ to 5 years PQE).
The firm offers a competitive benefits package including 22 days' annual leave plus bank holidays, additional leave during the Christmas office closure, and an extra day of leave following each bank holiday over Easter, May, and August.
