PURPOSE OF JOB: To ensure quality of infeed and all fractions produced are up to the standard and accurately complete all product quality testing and paperwork to ensure safe, effective and efficient operation of the laboratory processes and adherence to procedures. PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES: 1. To carry out laboratory procedures as described in standard operating procedures in a safe and professional manner in order to produce results to the required quality. 2. Approve products per process or customer specification. 3. Accurately input testing data and QC results including production batch sheet, SPC and all process quality testing. 4. Understanding plant operation process in support of production manager. 5. Assist with support work, including supervision of batches in production, investigation of production problems, finding re-work outlets for redundant product, and complete quarantine Instruction form under direction of Line Manager. 6. Training and supervision temporary staff. 7. Maintain a clean and safe working environment through daily housekeeping inspections and adherence to 5S practices. Ensure that all working areas are maintained in a safe and clean manner at all times. 8. To be competent and fully compliant in the safe operation of equipment, including; general lab equipment scales & ovens, granulator, solution preparation (with the appropriate training against Standard Operation Procedure). 9. Supporting and following instruction from Line Manager. 10. To be aware of all safety requirements on the site and abide by all safety rules and regulations. SCOPE OF JOB: To support the quality control of final production of extruded polymers. Conduct daily lab testing safely and accurately, reporting all results in a timely manner. Assist with various tasks to validate the outcome of process changes in production through lab testing. Ensure that lab test results are communicated to relevant stakeholders.
