Team Overview
At Softcat, the People Business Partners & Employee Engagement team is part of the wider People & Property department. The team consists of Business Partners, HR Advisors and the Employee Engagement Lead. The People Business Partners are aligned to members of the Softcat Leadership Team and work in collaboration with specialist people teams in L&D, Recruitment & D&I, People Services & Reward to drive and enable business goals through our people.
About Your Role
As a Senior People Business Partner, you will partner Softcat's Chief Revenue Officer and key members of his leadership team across Specialist Sales and Sales Operations. Sales sits at the core of Softcat's business model and is our largest and fastest division with over 1,600 employees and growing. Due to the size and scope of the sales engine, you will sit alongside another Senior People Business Partner to provide full coverage across the Sales division supporting approximately 800 employees each, with the support of People Advisors. You will be a strategic partner focused on driving business results through highly engaged, high-performing employees that provide exceptional customer service. You will also play a key part in company-wide initiatives that strengthen our unique culture and position Softcat for continued success in the next exciting stage of our growth.
Responsibilities
* Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, influencing strategy and driving business performance.
* Create and deliver people strategies aligned to business priorities and Softcat's culture.
* Lead talent management, succession planning, and diversity initiatives to build high-performing teams.
* Manage complex projects, change initiatives, and employee relations while coaching and developing others.
* Full line management responsibility for a People Advisor, alongside day-to-day mentoring & coaching of other team members.
Qualifications & Experience
* Proven experience as a HR Business Partner supporting C-Suite and Director-level stakeholders within a sales or commercial environment.
* Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage competing priorities and ambiguity.
* Ability to think and act strategically while also being happy to roll your sleeves up and deal with operational matters as required.
* Experience of working closely with centres of excellence in a business partnering model.
* CIPD-qualified with excellent communication, change management, and complex employee relations experience.
* Willing and able to travel to other Softcat offices as and when required.
Flexible Working
* Hybrid working – 2 days in the office and 3 days working from home.
* We are able to consider this role as a full-time or part-time position ({4 days per week}, must be able to work Wednesday & Fridays).
* Working flexible hours – flexing the times you start and finish during the day.
* Flexibility around school pick up and drop offs.
