Location: Billingham, Stockton-on-Tees
Salary: £162 – £251 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: May 2026
About the Role
We are seeking a passionate, creative, and motivated Food Technology Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in Stockton-on-Tees. This is an excellent full-time opportunity for an inspiring educator who loves food, nutrition, and practical learning. You will play a key part in developing students’ skills in cooking, food science, and healthy living—helping them build confidence, independence, and valuable life skills.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging and well-structured Food Technology lessons tailored to a range of abilities
Teach essential skills in food preparation, nutrition, health, and food science
Inspire creativity, curiosity, and problem‑solving through practical cooking sessions
Assess student progress and provide constructive, supportive feedback
Maintain a safe, well‑organised and inclusive classroom environment
Support wider school initiatives, including cooking clubs, competitions, and extracurricular activities
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Strong subject knowledge across Food Technology, nutrition, and safe working practices
Experience teaching at secondary level is desirable (NQTs/ECTs are welcome to apply!)
Excellent communication, organisational, and classroom‑management skills
A passion for motivating and inspiring students in practical learning environments
A creative, proactive, and supportive teaching approach
