Job Description
We're working with a large pan-European manufacturing business, which operates 7 days a week, that is actively seeking to add an experienced Multiskilled Maintenance Electrician to join its site Manufacturing Engineering Support teams.
Position: Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrically bias)
Hours: 40 hours per week - Monday to Friday, based on Double Day shift 6am-2pm/2pm-10pm. Participation in weekend On Call Rota (approx 1 in 5).
Location: near Chippenham, Wiltshire
Salary: Circa £40,000 plus on-call allowance
Responsibilities:
1. Reactive Maintenance on automated production machinery
2. Pre-planned Maintenance (PPM) - Input to and carry out preventive maintenance routines
3. Mechanical fault finding
4. Electrical fault finding with and without diagrams (three-phase and control systems)
5. Small installation projects
6. Continuous Improvement to maintain optimal machine efficiency
7. Maintain cleanliness in work areas, including transit areas, workshop, and stores
8. Support the Operations team in achieving targets
9. Comply with the company's Health and Safety policies and procedures
10. Contribute to cost-effective technical solutions
11. Deliver to operational expectations
12. Be part of a weekend call-out rota
Requirements:
* A recognised industrial Electrical qualification, 18th Edition, and Level 3 Electrical Engineering qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent)
* Experience working as a Shift Electrician or dedicated Electrical Engineer in a manufacturing environment
* Experience in print, packaging, or related industries is a plus but not essential; experience in manufacturing or industrial automation is critical
* Strong electrical fault-finding skills, especially on PLCs, drives, and inverters
* Excellent diagnostic skills and ability to read engineering diagrams
* Experience with maintenance PPM and RM programmes
* Ideally, experience working with a Mechanical Engineer in a buddy system
* Good communication, organizational, and teamwork skills
* Self-motivated with initiative and determination
* Specific training will be provided as needed, including OEM supplier support and remote diagnostic support from OEMs
